Liza Gershuni Contemporary is a young gallery located in downtown Tel-Aviv. The gallery is affiliated with HaTahana School of Drawing and Painting, a privately-owned school for traditional, figurative art, where some of Israel’s most highly acclaimed figurative painters have been teaching hundreds of students for the past decade.
The gallery is the inevitable next step. Liza Gershuni Contemporary is committed to showing contemporary figurative drawings, paintings, and sculpture of the finest quality only. The gallery has been showing the top graduates of HaTahana School’s Masterclass since its’ inception, as well as other young artists striving for the highest level of excellence in their chosen field. The ongoing series of solo and group exhibitions in the gallery has already met with much critical and commercial success.
Inhabiting an intimate and finely proportioned space flooded with natural light, the gallery is an ideal viewing space, inviting visitors to spend quiet quality-time with the artwork of their choice. The Gallery is located literally next door to the school, and visitors to the gallery are encouraged to visit the classes at work as well, for a unique experience of art-in-the-making.
Exhibitions in the gallery are curated by Liza Gershuni, who is also the director of the school. Liza is able to draw on years of close experience of the field of traditional figurative painting – she has put together the seminal exhibition “Presences” and the accompanying book, among other things – to select and assemble art of the highest quality and relevance.
